My name is Kathy Wood, owner and designer of Victory Mountain Web Designs. I originally moved to
Sheridan
Wyoming in 1977 with my family, where I attended Squirrel Creek School and
Sheridan High School. I started my career in the field of computers and
technology at the age of 19 years old in the heart of the Silicon Valley in
Santa Clara California. In my 10 years in California I worked at
National Semiconductor, then Tandem Computers (bought out by Compaq, now owned
by HP) and attended
college classes at Mission College and Stanford University. Upon moving to
Loveland Colorado I was employed with Hewlett Packard before moving back "home"
to Sheridan Wyoming. My first couple of years in Sheridan were spent
teaching computer classes. I resigned from RENEW as Information
Services Manager November 2001 to be home with my children and to run a Web
Design and Marketing business from my home. In my
"spare time" I do a little freelance writing.. In the 6 years I was employed at RENEW
I was the project manager that ultimately resulted in automated billing and
electronic submission of bills to the State of Wyoming. Accomplishment of
this project included installation of a wide area network, new workstations
company wide, learning and implementing the integrated software from CMHC out of
Dublin Ohio.
After over 20 years in the field of computers I have decided to focus on the more fun side of
technology and computers: web page design and e-commerce. Of course,
life is a daily challenge with 3 boys and a terrific growing business!
My husband, John - better known as Woody - works at Safeway. Our
oldest son helps "check" the web sites by insuring all the links point to the
correct place and has quite an aptitude for the "incorrect". Our
middle son insures the sites classified as fun, really are fun. Our youngest
son, well, is the ice breaker that we have "fun" amidst the craziness of life!
Woody's role in our venture includes occasional photography, running errands and
website updates, and most importantly, whisking away the boys so the office is
quiet. So, we have quite a
family adventure in place at times.
